From the crashing of the sea on rocks in Pembrokeshire to the intricate architectural detail of Cardiff’s pubs, award-winning artist Christopher Langley finds inspiration in his Welsh surroundings.

Raised in Pontypridd, Chris became professional in 2012. Today, Chris gives demonstrations to art societies in addition to being invited show display work in London and to comment on art topics on BBC Radio Wales.

He is a regular contributor to the South Wales Argus, featured on Media Wales and has been invited to exhibit in London as part of London Welsh Arts Week 2018. He is also a member of the FSB, 4Network & Zokit Business Communities, promoting art in Wales. He has appeared on S4C’s Heno for his local Cardiff Pub series in addition to being approached to give a feature on Welsh art on TV’s Cefn Gwlad. Chris was invited to exhibit in New York, where one of his paintings was chosen as the event poster at a month long exhibition.

A committee member of the South Wales Art Society (SWAS), Chris is artist in residence at the Celtic Manor Resort and David Lloyd Tennis Center, Cardiff. His work features in a number of public venues throughout South Wales. He has a large presence on line, where he can be found on page one of Google for ‘Welsh Artist’.

Chris brings a fresh interpretation to his subjects. He says: “There have been many paintings of Cardiff Landmarks and Castle Coch, for example, but none have used the colour combination I bring to the subject. I find great inspiration in many things about Wales; the people and the towns; the unique land and seascapes” Chris’ recent series on Tenby have been very well received.
